چکیده

The formation and structure of inclusion complexes of αand β-cyclodextrins with 2-chlorophenol (2CP), 3-chlorophenol (3CP), 4-chlorophenol (4CP), 2,4-dichlorophenol (24DCP), 2,6-dichlorophenol (26DCP) and 3,4-dichlorophenol (34DCP) have been studied by UV-VIS and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Both cyclodextrins were found to form 1 : 1 inclusion complexes. Binding constants estimated from titration studies revealed that the stability of the complexes was highly dependent on the structure and polarity of the chlorophenol and on the cyclodextrin used. In general, weaker binding constants were observed for a given chlorophenol with α-cyclodextrin than with β-cyclodextrin. The weakest binding constants (Kb < 200 M−1) were obtained for the ortho-substituted chlorophenols (2CP and 26DCP) and the largest binding constants were obtained between para-chlorophenols (4CP, 24DCP and 34DCP) andβ-cyclodextrin. 2D-TROESY studies of chlorophenolcyclodextrin complexes in D2O provided insight into the structure of the complexes.

The effect of pH on cyclodextrin complexation of trifluoperazine.

The characteristics of host-guest complexation between cyclodextrins (beta-CD, DM-beta-CD, HP-beta-CD) and protonated (pH 1.9, 6.2) or basic (pH 10.2) forms of trifluoperazine (TF) were investigated by spectrometric method. The association constants of complexes obtained at different temperatures and pH were calculated using Scott's equation and the thermodynamic parameters (deltaH, deltaS and ...

Linkage of α-cyclodextrin-terminated poly(dimethylsiloxanes) by inclusion of quasi bifunctional ferrocene

We report the noncovalent linkage of terminally substituted oligo(dimethylsiloxanes) bearing α-cyclodextrins (α-CD) as host end groups for the cyclopentadienyl rings of ferrocene. This double complexation of unsubstituted ferrocene leads to a supramolecuar formation of the siloxane strands. Structural characterization was performed by the use of (1)H NMR and IR spectroscopy and by mass spectrom...

NMR and molecular modelling studies on the interaction of fluconazole with β-cyclodextrin

BACKGROUND Fluconazole (FLZ) is a synthetic, bistriazole antifungal agent, effective in treating superficial and systemic infections caused by Candida species. Major challenges in formulating this drug for clinical applications include solubility enhancement and improving stability in biological systems. Cyclodextrins (CDs) are chiral, truncated cone shaped macrocyles, and can easily encapsulat...
